PRO HIV 2019

About the Conference

September 23–23, 2019, the international conference PROHIV-2019 will be held in Moscow.

HIV experts - doctors, scientists and NGO representatives - will gather to discuss innovative solutions for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of HIV infection, the interaction and the role of non-profit organizations in this issue and the consolidation of civil society efforts to counteract the spread of HIV infection.

Key features
of the Conference

1 There will be 500 participants and 25 panels, including reports and discussions on critical topics.
2 Representatives of the Ministry of Health, FSIN, Russian and foreign doctors, scientists, NGOs and the media will be gathered among the conference speakers.
3 The reports and discussions of the Conference will touch upon the newest problems of the epidemic, such as ageing with HIV, chemsex (hnh?) and PrEP.

Christine Katlama
Christine Katlama is MD, a professor of infectious diseases at the Sorbonne University in Paris, has worked in the field of HIV since 1982 and participated in the discovery of HIV-2 in 1986, heads the Department of Clinical AIDS Assistance and is co-director of HIV clinical research at iPLESP (Pierre Louis Institute of Public Health and Epidemiology).

Conference purpose

The purpose is to find innovative solutions to crucial objectives: taking preventive measures, including in key populations, expanding HIV testing, increasing the coverage of antiretroviral therapy for people living with HIV, and further reducing the risk of mother-to-child transmission of HIV.

Main areas of work

Modeling the HIV epidemic; immunological and molecular genetic control of the epidemic caused by resistant strains of HIV; new approaches to the detection of HIV viral reservoirs and the possibility of their eradication; current trends in the treatment of HIV infection; the place of pre-contact prophylaxis in counteracting the HIV epidemic; interagency interaction and the role of socially-oriented non-profit organizations; Experience effective access practices at risk.

CFD meeting

Within the framework of the Conference, a meeting of chief specialists on HIV infection from the subjects of the central federal district will be held on the problems of HIV diagnosis and treatment.

The Conference is supported by UNAIDS, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Health of the Moscow Region.
